Get Your Poem On 39/ Forbidden

There’s something about the forbidden:

I used to be glad to have no plans and just be at home

But now that we are supposed to stay home

I want to go out.

Tell me not to touch my face

And it’ll be sure to itch.

As a teen, sex was forbidden

And was all I could think about.

About Mindy Matijasevic

Writer of nonfiction prose and poetry; actress; comic; adult basic education instructor. The name of this blog was inspired by a former student, Camille Williams, who once, in a conversation, used the phrase "get my learn on." I loved it, and it stuck in my head.
